LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK
ACTIVITIES:
Game Viewing, boat rides in L.Mburo, Guided walks, birding.
This is the smallest National Park in Uganda; it is famous for its richness in biodiversity. With about 68 different species of mammals, the Park’s major activity is game viewing. Game drive activities here will yieldand here you will be sure to come close to beautiful impalas, zebras, cape buffalos, elands, Oribi and Topi. Along with the game drive, many visitors also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. The lake is rich with a diversity of animal and plant species which can only be viewed clearly if you take a boat trip. The crocodiles, hippopotamuses and birds like Pelicans, Black crake, Heron, cormorant, fish eagle, you may also sight the rare Shoebill Stork and all these will furnish your visit with pride. The duration of each boat cruise is negotiable.
The park gives a very good opportunity for bird watchers, who will enjoy more than 250 species of birds here, be sure to see the Papyrus gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, Carruther’s cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird.
Forest walk;
Make arrangements with the Park Management for an armed Ranger to guide you. The walk will be carried out in Rubanga

Forest which is a very small but true closed canopy forest. A common tree is Markhamia platycalyx (grey-brown truck with irregular flaky patches, divided leaves, yellow flowers stripped and spotted with red; brunches of extremely long (up to 1.3 m podlike fruits). Palms, figs, sapium (a tall tree whose leaves turn red before falling) and the flame tree Erythrina abyssinica occur towards the edge of the swamp.
Birding:
Birds of the Open Water in this Park include; Pink-backed pelican, Darter, White pelican, Yellow-billed duck, Long-tailed cormorant, White winged black tern and Greater cormorant
Lakeshore and papyrus swamp birds are over 26 species. Some of them include; Fish eagle, pied kingfisher, African finfoot, Great white egret, and Night heron.
