DAY 1
Leave Kampala for south-western Uganda, to Lake Mburo National Park. See herds of zebra and other savannah mammals. This park also acts as home to over 300 species of birds. Enjoy a game drive and boat ride on the lake. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 2
Leave Lake Mburo National Park and drive through the mountainous and heavily terraced area of Kigezi, briefly visit the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi – Lake of Little Birds. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable or Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Dinner and Overnight.
DAY 3
Early morning briefing from your guides before you head towards the dense forest on your search for gorillas and an intimate interaction with these gentle and endangered animals. You will also view other primates including blue monkeys, L'oehst monkeys, red tailed monkeys and chimpanzee, along with a variety of birdlife. Relax and dine back at your luxury camp or lodge.
DAY 4
Transfer from the gorilla sanctuary to the Ishasha sector in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will move from dense forest to open grasslands dotted with flat-topped acacia and primeval euphorbia trees. The area is famous for its tree-climbing lions, large herds of buffalo and kob. Proceed to Mweya Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 5
Early morning game drive, then visit the volcanic area of Queen Elizabeth National Park. In the afternoon, relax as you enjoy the Kazinga channel launch cruise, the channel joins Lakes George and Edward. Watch out for elephants, Hippopotamus, crocodiles and water birds can be seen along the banks. Overnight Mweya Safari Lodge with dinner.
DAY 6
Depart for Semuliki National Park. This area is still virgin and hardly touched by man. As an extension of the vast forest of the Congo, several species of birds and animals are unique to this park. Overnight at the Semuliki Safari Lodge.
DAY 7
Full morning exploring the lush forest rich with primates and birds. Break for lunch and after proceed in the search for chimpanzee and other primates. Dinner and overnight at Semuliki Safari Lodge.
DAY 8
Drive to Kibale Forest, 11 species of primates and a variety of birds and butterflies harbored. Have lunch on arrival and in the afternoon relax or take short hikes as you explore the surroundings. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 9
Visit Kibale Forest for chimpanzee trekking. The forest is also home to other primates like grey cheeked Mangabeys, baboons and vervet monkeys. Picnic lunch; Afternoon, walk through the swamps to see birds and primates at close range. Dinner and overnight.
DAY 10
Depart for Murchison Falls N. P. through the village towns of Kagadi and Hoima with lunch Enroute.
DAY 11
Enjoy an early morning visit to the top of the Murchison Falls; see the Nile crash through a 6 meter gorge. In the afternoon, enjoy the spectacular boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison Falls. Spot large crocodiles, hippopotamus, numerous water birds and other game from the boat. Return the Lodge for overnight.
DAY 12
Early game drive across the Nile on the northern bank of the river. Animals frequently spotted here include Uganda kob, hartebeest, elephants, Rothschild’s giraffe, Cape buffalo, Topi and lion. Take lunch at the Lodge and relax for the afternoon. Take an early evening forest walk and experience nature close-up with a ranger guide.
DAY 13
Return to Kampala, via Masindi and Luwero Districts. See traditional homesteads and farms Enroute.
